As promised, I've sent your natural hair care plan straight to your inbox. It includes the top 3 products to use and why and how healthy hair techniques can amplify results.
Amplify results with healthy hair techniques
Deep condition: after completely rinsing shampoo from your hair, start adding Oprah's fav to the full length of hair. Divide hair into 6-10 sections depending on thickness and length. Use clips or loose twists to isolate sections. Allow to condition for about 20 minutes. May enhance conditioning with heat or steam. Rinse well and proceed with styling. Oprah’s fav may also be used as a pre-shampoo treatment.
Moisturize: after completely rinsing Oprah's fav from your hair, start adding Enrich to the full length of hair. Divide hair into 6-10 sections depending on thickness and length. Use clips or loose twists to isolate sections.
Detangle: with Enrich and water saturated hair still in 6-10 sections, choose a beginning section. Start slowly detangling at the ends moving up to the roots using your fingers, a detangling brush or wide tooth comb. Re-clip or re-twist each section once completely detangled. Repeat detangling, re-clipping or re-twisting until all sections have been completely detangled. Leave Enrich in and proceed with styling.
Protect: while adding Pumpkin to the full length of hair (layer over Enrich), divide hair into 6-10 sections depending on thickness and length. Use clips or loose twists to isolate sections. Leave Pumpkin in and proceed with styling. May also heat Pumpkin to warm by placing a closed Pumpkin bottle in a bowl of water already heated to warm in the microwave (for warm oil scalp or hair treatments). May also be used as a pre-shampoo treatment.
Shampooing removes product build up, cleanses hair and scalp and prepares hair to be moisturized. It isn't optional and co-washing just isn't the same.
Product build up is the progressive coating of scalp and hair with products. Over time, it creates a barrier that prevents moisture from actually penetrating into your hair and results in dry hair and flaking scalp.
Actual moisturizers have water (or aloe vera) in the top 1-3 ingredients in an ingredients label. Otherwise, it's not a moisturizer!
The absolute best time to moisturize is just after rinsing shampoo from your hair while it's still saturated with water! Enrich Moisturizer and water will actually penetrate into your hair and result in the lasting moisture you crave!
Here's the bonus: no need to wrap your hair with a towel or t-shirt when exiting the shower as no water will be dripping from your hair.
Actually your hair is 80% keratin protein and needs protein for good health! If protein left you feeling underwhelmed, try a different type of protein or change how you use it. Change how you use by applying Enrich Moisturizer after rinsing Oprah's Fav from your hair.
Here's the bonus: order of use does indeed make a difference!
Cut styling time in half by removing shed hairs during detangling and trimming ends consistently! You shed 50-100 hairs daily regardless of how you hair is styled. Shed hairs get trapped in remaining hair and create tangles. Damaged ends "stick" together, cause breakage and create single strand knots.
Removing shed hairs during detangling and trimming ends consistently make detangling easier and avoid breakage, additional damage and single strand knots.
Always detangle with water saturated hair and Enrich Moisturizer. Detangle in sections beginning at your ends, moving up to your roots using fingers, detangling comb or detangling brush.
Deep condition with Oprah's Fav and Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil as often as needed, either once or twice monthly or once or twice every two months. Deep conditioning before or after shampooing are equally great options.
Porosity is a measure of how well your hair absorbs and retains moisture. It can be high, normal or low, but high is the real challenge since your hair loses moisture as easily as it accepts it.
End high porosity drama by layering Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil over Enrich Moisturizer when styling, deep conditioning with Oprah's Fav twice monthly and practicing healthy hair techniques.
Cotton is kryptonite for moisturized hair! It's drying and dehydrating to hair, causes tangles, damages the cuticle and shortens the life of your style.
A silk or satin scarf, bonnet or pillowcase are all great options to protect your hair. And nightly pineappling of your hair will help in preserving the fullness of your style.
Here's the bonus for my vegan Queens: silk is made from fibers produced by silkworms and is more expensive than satin. Cruelty free silk is still very rare. Satin is a type of weave and is made from rayon, nylon, polyester or charmeuse.
Either way, silk or satin ensures more moisture!
You grow one-half inch of hair monthly, which is six inches annually! Practice healthy hair techniques like trimming ends consistently to claim 6 inches of annual growth! Trimming avoids breakage and maximizes growth.
