A few months ago I did a review on Mented Cosmetics Everyday Eyeshadow Palette. I received an email from Angela asking about eyeshadow primer and ones I would recommend.
I noticed her email had a logo with hair products which I had never heard of. I asked was this her brand and advised I would love to hear more. We emailed back and forth and I checked out her site and loved the ingredients. Angela has since reached out and asked if I would be interested in trying out her products to review.
I agreed and have been testing them for the past 3 weeks or so. If you have been following my blog for a while you know I don’t do first impression type reviews. With hair products especially, I need to test the products to determine if they will fit into my regimen with products that I already use and more importantly how my hair feels over time while using the product.
I was sent 3 products to review and what I am about to share are my opinions based on my experiences using these products.
The brand is known for using natural organic ingredients without fragrance, this line is totally unscented.
Don’t ask me why I smell them every time as if a scent will magically appear, just habit I guess. The packaging is very simple and I love the colors.
Some of the ingredients in both the leave in and the deep conditioner are: purified water, cetearyl alcohol (which is a fatty alcohol that softens, the hair or skin it also keeps the water and oils in a product from separating) coconut oil, hydrolyzed oat protein (which helps to condition the hair), and babassu oil are a few of the ingredients in these amazing products.
The first product I tried was the Nourish Treatment, this product can be used as a pre-poo treatment, a deep conditioner, and a rinse out conditioner.
I was a little concerned about this 8 oz deep conditioner for $22. I have used the Nourish Treatment 4 times and still, have so much product left (more than half). I have used it with heat using my hothead conditioning cap for 20 minutes and when short on time 10 minutes. I have used it without heat and left it on for 10 minutes the first time and 20 minutes the next time I used it.
My hair felt moisturized every time I used it with or without heat, but it felt most moisturized after using with heat. The texture is kind of whipped but not whipped full of air just a light texture that easily melts into the hair which means you use less product.
A little goes a long way, I have a lot of thick, somewhat coarse hair and I didn’t need to use a lot of product. I love this as a DC. I don’t pre-poo during the summer months and its too expensive to use just as a rinse out conditioner. I love love love this product and I will purchase this product. It's worth every penny!
The Enrich Moisturizer leave in has a lot of the same nourishing ingredients as the DC, it has a lotion-like texture that isn’t too thick or thin, it literally melts into my hair. I have used it on soaking wet, damp or dry hair. I have recently incorporated the leave in “baggy method” which I learned from Elle from Ellevate (formerly Quest for the Perfect Curl) which is to put your leave-in on your hair overnight sleeping with a conditioning cap on and complete your wash n go the next morning.
Y’all GAME CHANGER! I used this leave-in without using the baggy method and the next 3 times using the baggy method. I love this stuff, it is super moisturizing, my hair stays moisturized for days. I have used it with 4 gels Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator, Camille Rose Curl Maker, Ailkay Naturals Aloe Berry Styling Gel and the WetLine Xtreme Gel. I have a review on all of these gels except the WetLine gel.
The Enrich Moisturizer worked will with 4 of my favorite gels; which is so important I don’t have time to figure out or remember what products in my arsenal play well with others. With this product a little goes a long way, I have used it 4 times and have only used about a fourth of the product. AMAZING.
The last item I received was the Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil. It's full of fatty acids and antioxidants, and helps the hair retain moisture and also helps to restore scalp health and so many other benefits (that I didn’t know before doing this review). This oil is super light and absorbs into the skin and hair easily without being greasy or oily.
I love the way this oil feels and it really has been soothing to my very irritated scalp (I have had scalp issues for years that I regularly see a dermatologist for). This product surprised me the most. I couldn’t believe how different it is compared to all the other oils I have used. With all of these products, a little goes a long way. I can’t speak to the long-term benefits but I will keep using this oil and will keep you posted.
I am shocked I have never heard of this brand and that no one is talking about these amazing products. I am so happy that I met Angela via my blog and I stumbled upon her amazing brand. You guys please check out this brand I promise you won’t be disappointed!
